3 Easy Last-Minute Halloween Costumes

This happens to me every year. Before I know it, Halloween is upon us and panic ensues because I have NO idea what I’m going to wear as a costume. Sure, I could run to the local party store and buy a ridiculously expensive and tacky store-bought costume, but what’s the fun in that? I personally think that putting together easy homemade costumes is the best way to dress up for Halloween. It’s budget-friendly because you’re not spending money on a costume you’ll wear once a year and it gives you a chance to get creative and have fun with the pieces you own already. Check out these three easy last-minute Halloween costumes you probably already have in your closet.

1. Where’s Waldo

Get spotted by the easily recognizable character, Waldo from Where’s Waldo. This is an incredibly easy ensemble to put together. Just grab any red and white striped top—a t-shirt, sweater, or blouse could work—and wear it with jeans and sneakers. Toss in a red crossbody to be extra chic (and also practical—Waldo needs a place to put his stuff). Extra credit if you have black-rimmed glasses and a red beanie to top it all off!

2. A Groovy ’60s-Inspired Costume

Groovy baby! Luckily tie-dye has been one of the biggest trends of 2019 and you can find tie-dye pieces practically anywhere, even if you don’t already own a tie-dye shirt. Wear your tie-dye with flared denim and heeled booties for a simple 60’s inspired Halloween costume. Throw on colored sunglasses and layered necklaces to really complete the look.

3. Sandy from Grease

I got chills, they’re multiplying…because you’re going to look extra sleek in a Sandy costume on Halloween! Find a black cropped jacket – a moto, suede, or leather jacket will all work, a black tank, and black skinny jeans or leggings. Eazy peasy. Go, greased lightnin’!
